Cosmetic
Procedures > Botox®, Laser, Dermabrasion,
etc.
| Botox® Injection |
| Very small amounts of Botox®
are injected in different parts of the face to weaken
the muscles responsible for wrinkles. This is done
with thin needles that cause very little pain. |
| |
|
Dermal Fillers: Restylane/Collagen |
| Injectable
protein used to treat facial wrinkles. Results are
immediate, but treatments need to be repeated to
maintain results. New products on the market are being
incorporated into the practice. |
| |
| Fat
Transfers |
Fat harvested
from one body area (usually abdomen)
is purified and injected with a special needle
into other areas.
Example: The purified fat can be
used for the face to treat hollow areas under the
eyes, fill and flatten deep grooves, or enlarge
lips. |
| |
| Laser |
| Used to improve skin texture
and remove facial veins, age spots, unwanted hair,
and fine wrinkles. Also see laser
procedures. |
| |
| Dermabrasion |
| Recommended for heavy skin wrinkling
or extreme sun damage. It improves the texture of
the pockmarked skin from acne or chicken pox. A
high-speed rotary wheel used to abrade the skin
does the procedure. After this treatment the skin
should be smoother and firmer. |

| Scar
Revisions |
| Scars usually
cannot be removed, but their appearance can be significantly
improved with a variety of techniques (excision,
Z-plasty, dermabrasion, etc.) |
