Implants (Augmentation): to
enlarge small breast, undeveloped breast or breast
that have decreased in size after pregnancy. This
procedure is done by inserting implants behind
each breast through an incision under the breast,
around the areola or in the armpit.
|
|
Lift (Mastopexy): This is considered
after a woman has lost weight or there is a loss
of volume or tone to her breasts. The nipple and
areola is placed higher, breast tissue repositioned,
excessive skin removed, and remaining skin reshaped.
|
| Reduction:
This is considered a reconstructive
procedure because of the interference with physical
activity. This involves the removal of breast tissue
and skin, and repositions the nipple and areola
and the reshaping remaining tissue. A certain amount
of tissue has to be removed to qualify breast
reduction for insurance reimbursement. |
|
Implant removal: for implant
rupture, capsulor contracture, etc.
|
|
Areola/Nipple Reconstruction:
perfomred as a finishing touch after breast reconstruction.
|
|
Areola/Nipple Reduction:
reshaping or reducing the length or diameter of the areola for a more desirable appearance.
|
|
Areola/Nipple Inverted:
changing the inversion of a retracted areola.
|
|
Areola/Nipple Color Correction:
changing or adding the color to light or reconstructive areola.
|
|
Male reduction:
considered when excess development of breast tissue
occurs. The procedure usually consists of the
removal of the tissue under the breast and liposuction
of the surrounding fatty tissue. The procedure
is done by a small incision made around the lower
half of the areola area.
